Highly skilled IT infrastructure professional designated as Senior Systems Reliability Engineer at Nutanix India. My role involves helping Nutanix customers worldwide in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical and performance issues with Nutanix product portfolio, hardware running on-premise and on cloud infrastructure. In my previous role as Subject Matter Expert for Networker at Dell EMC I specialized in VMware virtual machine backup and recovery. My role involved working with engineering on escalations, assisting on code red cases involving DU/DL, leading and assisting L1 and L2 teams, part of product beta testing, delivering training, TOI on new features and creating technical content. I led and trained teams at Wipro Hyderabad as part of support transition and was directly involved in evaluating the team’s performance. I had assisted senior management in providing guidance and highlighting areas of improvement for the team. I was involved in the hiring process and building a new team from the ground up.

Academic Project:

VMDK to AMI Converter

As part of this project a programmed tool was developed for converting VMware virtual machines to Amazon Machine Image (AMI) on Amazon Web Services Cloud. VMware backups involve backing up of VMDK files as part of image level backup. The VMDK files can be retrieved and exported from backup device directly by mounting the backup path on any host like instant access restore functionality which internally creates NFS export from the backup path. The user can locally view and access the VM files after the export is mounted. As part of this project, I used BOTO3 AWS API along with a Python to read and convert the VMDK to Amazon Machine Image. As part of the project, we first accessed the files from local storage. Once the VMDK files were uploaded to Amazon S3, it was used to create AMI that can be used to deploy and run EC2 instances in AWS Cloud. The files uploaded to S3 can also be used as an option for backup to S3 and can be retrieved at any point.
